David von Hippel
Senior Associate Researcher
David is an SEI Associate based in Eugene, Oregon. His experience covers a broad range of topics and applications in the fields of energy and resource planning and environmental management, including energy efficiency, demand-side management and integrated resource planning for utilities, renewable energy, global climate change, acid gas emissions, rural electrification, international electricity grid integration, and energy/environment scenario modeling. Over the past two decades he has worked in the United States and in dozens of countries around the world on projects for the United Nations, World Bank, environmental organizations, government agencies, private foundations, and private and public utilities, providing training, analysis, development of analytical tools, and advice.
David received his Ph.D. in Energy and Resources from the University of California at Berkeley in 1987.
