The Waxman-Markey bill, better known as the cap-and-trade bill, have received both cheers and jeers on its proposal to create a cap-and-trade mechanism for carbon dioxide in the US. At COP15, senior researcher Frank Ackerman joined Larry Lohmann from Corner House in a Democracy Now! tv debate on the pros and cons of the bill.

New Website www.RealClimateEconomics.org launched

April, 2009
SEI senior researcher Frank Ackerman initiated and produced the content for the first version of a new website launched by Economics for Equity and the Environment Network (E3), www.RealClimateEconomics.org, to demonstrate the weight of economic analysis in the peer reviewed literature that supports immediate, large-scale policy responses to the climate crisis.
